Ask how far the sand is on foot, and whether the hotel has meaningful shade or a pool for midday heat. “Near the beach” can mean very different walks.

A shortlist of walkable restaurants beats a packed sightseeing plan. If you’re travelling with kids or after a long drive, proximity matters more than novelty.

Pace the stay
Keep day one light. Swim, nap, long lunch. Save one outing for mid-stay and leave checkout morning soft.
